About the role#
ATC is hiring an Engineering Intern to support the integration of machinery and equipment into our manufacturing processes. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are looking for students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Write equipment specifications, performance requirements, and cost analyses for machinery integration.
- Design tools and fixtures to meet specific project requirements.
- Develop and write operating programs for equipment.
- Assist with machine installation and verify that systems function according to specifications.
- Test machine performance and resolve system malfunctions.
- Determine maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedules.
- Develop models to test the feasibility of new processing methods.
- Recommend improvements for production methods and product quality.
- Represent the engineering department in meetings and training sessions.
- Provide technical information to other departments and conduct equipment training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Proficiency in advanced mathematical concepts including quadratic equations, logarithms, and permutations.
- Skill in statistical analysis, such as variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions.
- Strong communication skills for responding to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.
