About the role#
The Infant-Toddler Student Assistant Teacher provides care, guidance, and supervision for children in a nurturing environment. You will work under the direction of program teachers to support daily routines and help maintain a safe space for children to learn and grow. This is a part-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct care and supervision for children.
- Assist with daily routines including meals, napping, and diapering or toileting.
- Conduct wellness checks for each child at the start of your shift.
- Inspect the environment continuously to ensure health and safety standards are met.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and bi-annual retreats.
- Help set up activities and maintain program records.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at California State University, Long Beach, taking at least six units.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of state health requirements, including a physical exam, TB test, TDAP, MMR, and a flu shot.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background check (Live Scan).

- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Specific blocks include 8:00 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This is a union position.
