About the role#
The Campus Events Office is hiring a Student Receptionist to act as the primary point of contact for the campus community and the public. You will support the Campus Events Office Manager by handling administrative tasks and assisting visitors at our facilities. This is a year-round position that continues through winter and summer breaks.
What you'll do#
- Answer and screen incoming calls regarding scheduling requests.
- Provide general information to campus visitors and the off-campus community.
- Greet and assist walk-in clients.
- File and maintain office records.
- Prepare, run, and distribute daily reports for building management staff.
- Sort and deliver mail.
- Help clients with minor reservations.
- Monitor supply levels and notify the manager when orders are needed.
What you'll need#
- Current and active CSULB student status, enrolled in at least 6 units.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- A general knowledge of the campus layout and services.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
- Ability to work 4 to 5 hour shifts, with a specific need for availability Monday through Thursday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 12 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours for event support.
- Compensation: This is a paid, union position.
