About the role#
Associated Electric Cooperative offers paid engineering internships at our headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. These roles are available across various engineering departments during the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Summer 2027 terms. You will work Monday through Friday alongside staff engineers to support the reliability of our electric system.
What you'll do#
- Analyze electrical system data and assist with transmission, distribution, or other engineering studies.
- Support technical analysis projects including relay, protection, coordination, load flow, and system modeling.
- Assist with testing, data collection, technical documentation, drawings, and reviewing reports for accuracy.
- Investigate system events, trends, reliability concerns, or potential compliance issues.
- Support plant and system improvement projects involving equipment, maintenance, controls, PLC systems, or new installations.
- Help develop and maintain engineering tools, databases, scripts, procedures, and reports.
- Assist with project specifications, construction or contractor information, and engineering recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework toward a bachelor degree.
