About the role#
Ascensus is looking for a motivated student to join the Legal, Risk, and Compliance team as a Co-Op. This role provides hands-on experience in financial services compliance and risk management. You will work directly with the Know Your Client (KYC) Compliance Program to help ensure the firm meets regulatory expectations and internal policies. This position offers exposure to multiple career paths and professional mentorship within a regulated financial environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of the Know Your Client (KYC) Compliance Program, including customer due diligence and periodic reviews.
- Review and validate client documentation for completeness and adherence to policies.
- Maintain records related to KYC reviews, risk assessments, and compliance evidence.
- Track KYC metrics and assist with data analysis and reporting.
- Update compliance procedures, job aids, and internal documentation.
- Research regulatory requirements, industry practices, and emerging risk topics.
- Assist with broader initiatives like control testing, audits, and special projects.
- Collaborate with the LRC team and cross-functional partners to support compliance goals.
What you'll need#
- You are a motivated and detail-oriented student.
- You are pursuing a degree in business, finance, risk management, legal studies, compliance, or a related field.
- Students graduating in 2027 are highly preferred.
