About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the summer of 2027. You will work within our actuarial team in Indianapolis, gaining direct experience on the same projects as our professional actuaries. This role is hybrid, requiring time in the office. We provide support for your professional growth, including coverage for Society of Actuaries exam fees and study materials.
What you'll do#
- Build a solid understanding of how benefit plan operations function.
- Review and prepare individual benefit calculations using your analytical skills.
- Organize participant data and check for inconsistencies.
- Interpret plan documents to understand the legal rules governing plan administration.
- Support special projects such as plan terminations and software conversions.
- Consult with clients on data, calculations, and plan regulations.
- Find ways to improve internal processes for better accuracy and efficiency.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Actuarial Science.
- Strong mathematics, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
- The ability to think strategically and understand how your work impacts broader objectives.
- A proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with others.
- Progress on Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams is preferred but not required.
