About the role#
Arizona State University is seeking a Management Intern to support the Career Services data and analytics team. This role focuses on maintaining dashboards and creating reports to track student career outcomes and engagement. The intern will work closely with staff to turn data into actionable insights, helping the department make informed decisions. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Tempe, Arizona, with a commitment of 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and build interactive reports using Tableau and Alteryx to track engagement metrics.
- Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, and ensure the integrity of datasets.
- Use Python scripting and AI tools to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Partner on cross-functional projects with other ASU units to support institutional reporting.
- Analyze student career outcomes to inform strategic outreach and service improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate student in a related field, such as Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau and Alteryx.
- Knowledge of data modeling, dashboarding, and business intelligence strategies.
- Familiarity with project management and workflow automation principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex data findings clearly.
Location & details#
- Location: Tempe, Arizona (On-site).
- Schedule: 20 hours per week, with potential for some nights and weekends.
- Term: Short-term position up to 12 months, with the possibility of a one-year extension based on review.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
