About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, and provides hands-on experience with civil engineering projects for municipalities and public agencies. You will work alongside professionals to build technical skills and gain insight into the industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection networks, and distribution systems.
- Prepare engineering drawings, reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling, engineering calculations, and material quantity take-offs.
- Participate in field investigations, site inspections, and field tests.
- Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and assist with construction cost estimates.
- Support permitting, project scheduling, and regulatory compliance documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain self-motivation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, GIS, or hydraulic modeling software is preferred.
