About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site internship in Knoxville, Tennessee, provides exposure to real-world engineering work. You will support projects for municipalities and public agencies while building your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection networks.
- Prepare engineering drawings, reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling, engineering calculations, and material quantity take-offs.
- Participate in field investigations, tests, measurements, and site inspections.
- Support permitting, regulatory compliance documentation, and project scheduling efforts.
- Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and help develop construction cost estimates.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team and as a self-motivated individual.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, GIS, or hydraulic modeling software is preferred.
