About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Tucson, Arizona. This full-time, on-site role provides exposure to real-world infrastructure projects that support municipalities and public agencies. You will work alongside a team of professionals to build your technical skills and gain experience in the civil engineering industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roadway, drainage, signing, and pavement markings.
- Prepare engineering drawings, reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
- Conduct transportation design, modeling, engineering calculations, and material quantity take-offs.
- Participate in field investigations, tests, measurements, and site inspections to collect and process data.
- Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and assist in developing construction cost estimates.
- Support permitting, regulatory compliance documentation, and project scheduling.
- Review design drawings for accuracy and adherence to standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Bentley or Autodesk software is preferred.
