About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will support engineering assignments on transportation projects for municipalities and public agencies. This role provides exposure to real-world engineering work, helping you build technical skills and explore a career in the civil engineering industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roadway, drainage, signing, and pavement markings.
- Prepare engineering drawings, reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
- Conduct transportation design and modeling, engineering calculations, and material quantity take-offs.
- Participate in field investigations, tests, measurements, and site inspections.
- Support permitting, regulatory compliance documentation, and project scheduling.
- Contact vendors for budgetary quotes and assist with construction cost estimates.
- Review design drawings for accuracy and adherence to standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team of professionals.
- Familiarity with Bentley or Autodesk software, such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or GIS is preferred.
