About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This role is based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and requires on-site attendance. You will support engineering assignments related to site development, stormwater design, transportation, utilities, and community infrastructure. This internship provides exposure to client projects and mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and analysis of civil engineering projects including roadways, drainage systems, utilities, and site development.
- Use CAD software and other engineering tools to create plan sheets, details, and figures.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
- Conduct field inspections, perform field tests, and collect project data.
- Assist with project documentation, permitting packages, and technical memoranda.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and gather budgetary pricing from vendors.
- Review engineering drawings and support quality checks.
- Participate in project meetings and problem-solving discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS applications is a plus.
