About the role#
Ardurra is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for our Pittsburgh office. You will work under general supervision on assignments that use standard engineering techniques to support municipal and civil projects. This role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design tasks for roadway, drainage, stormwater, utility, water, wastewater, and site improvement projects.
- Support engineers with data collection, basic calculations, reports, specifications, and project schedules.
- Prepare plans, exhibits, maps, and other design documents.
- Review civil drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy.
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct field investigations and site visits to document existing infrastructure and site conditions.
- Use engineering and design software to assist with drafting, mapping, and documentation.
- Develop an understanding of municipal, local, state, and federal regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in municipal infrastructure and working with local government agencies.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS is preferred.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The position operates on a rolling basis.
