About the role#
Ardurra is hiring an Aviation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will support engineering assignments related to the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. This role provides exposure to real-world engineering projects and helps you build technical skills for a career in aviation engineering.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing plan details, design components, and outlines for airport projects.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
- Research design options and present findings to project managers or engineers.
- Review design drawings and contribute to quality control efforts.
- Prepare sections of technical memoranda and project reports.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and contact vendors for cost estimates.
- Assist in developing construction cost estimates for aviation projects.
- Monitor project workloads, track scope changes, and help with documentation needs.
- Conduct field tests, measurements, and data collection to support design and construction.
- Assist with construction inspection and on-site representation during active seasons.
- Prepare daily field reports and contribute to construction oversight.
- Coordinate project-related communication, including client interactions under supervision.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary team members.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineering is a plus.
