About the role#
Ardurra is hiring an Aviation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This role supports the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. You will gain exposure to engineering work while building technical skills to explore a career in the aviation industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
- Research design options and present findings to project managers.
- Review design drawings and contribute to quality control.
- Prepare sections of technical memoranda and project reports.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and obtain budgetary quotes from vendors.
- Assist in developing construction cost estimates.
- Support project managers by monitoring workload and identifying scope changes.
- Perform field tests, measurements, and data collection.
- Assist with construction inspection and on-site project representation.
- Prepare daily field reports and contribute to construction oversight.
- Coordinate project-related communication, including client interactions under supervision.
- Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary team members across aviation assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineering is a plus.
