About the role#
Ardurra is hiring an Aviation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This role supports engineering assignments related to the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. You will gain exposure to real-world engineering work, build your technical skills, and explore a career in the aviation industry.
What you'll do#
- Prepare plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
- Research design options and present findings to project managers or engineers.
- Review design drawings and contribute to quality control efforts.
- Prepare sections of technical memoranda and assist with project reports.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and contact vendors for budgetary quotes.
- Assist in developing construction cost estimates for aviation projects.
- Support project managers by monitoring workloads and identifying scope changes.
- Perform field tests, measurements, and data collection to support design and construction.
- Assist with construction inspection, on-site representation, and daily field reporting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and assist with project-related communication.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A team-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
- Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineering.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
