About the role#
Ardurra is hiring an Aviation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Raleigh, North Carolina. This full-time, on-site position supports engineering assignments related to the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. You will work with engineers and project managers to build technical skills and gain experience in the aviation engineering industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing plan details, design components, and technical specifications for airport projects.
- Research design options and present findings to project engineers.
- Review design drawings and contribute to quality control efforts.
- Perform material quantity take-offs and contact vendors for cost estimates.
- Support construction oversight by performing field tests, measurements, and data collection.
- Prepare daily field reports and assist with construction inspection tasks.
- Help project managers monitor workloads and identify scope changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and assist with client interactions under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineering is a plus.
