About the role#
Architecture49 is seeking an Intern Architect to join our team in Ottawa. This is a full-time, on-site role with a rolling term. You will work alongside architects and senior team members to support project design and development.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior team members with project design and 2D or 3D visualizations.
- Research materials and prepare construction details.
- Validate plans against project programs and apply code analyses prepared by senior architects.
- Review existing documentation and visit project sites to gather data for drawings, models, and visualizations.
- Maintain and progress the professional requirements for your provincial internship.
What you'll need#
- An accredited professional architectural degree from a CACB recognized university.
- Registration in, or eligibility to register in, a provincial professional internship program.
- A portfolio of your work is required.
- Two or more years of experience in an architectural consulting firm is helpful.
- Familiarity with BIM principles, REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft 365, and Bluebeam is preferred.
- Proficiency in visualization software like Sketchup, VRay, or Enscape, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus.
- Knowledge of parametric and AI design tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, or Veras is an asset.
