Water Engineering Intern

About the role#

Arcadis is seeking a Water Engineering Intern to join the Water Business Line in Middletown, CT, for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site internship provides hands-on experience in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. You will contribute to sustainability and resilience initiatives while supporting the management of utility and municipal projects.

What you'll do#

• Evaluate, plan, design, and manage projects related to water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance.
• Conduct fieldwork, including site visits, water quality sampling, technology evaluation, and process troubleshooting.
• Support Asset Management projects through data analytics, operational assessments, and performance evaluations of facilities.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and client meetings.
• Ensure all project work complies with internal practices, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Water Resources Engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
