    About the role#

    We are looking for Engineering Summer Students to join our Development, Facilities, and Environmental Engineering groups for the Summer 2027 term. These positions provide an opportunity to gain experience in the western Canadian oil and gas industry while developing technical engineering skills. The work term lasts four months, beginning in May 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and support technical projects.
    • Assist Development Engineers with production and reservoir analysis to guide planning.
    • Perform economic evaluations and project screening for capital allocation.
    • Analyze reservoir depletion impacts to improve well performance predictions.
    • Contribute to data analytic projects to track and visualize KPIs.
    • Research new technology and cost reduction initiatives.
    • Support Facilities Engineers with project management controls, design reviews, and field visits.
    • Lead minor projects focused on asset integrity, facility maintenance, and process optimization.
    • Assist with the evaluation and procurement of equipment or services.
    • Help develop facility engineering standards and best practices.
    • Identify and execute emission reduction projects and help with project funding submissions.
    • Develop dashboards and presentations for various datasets.
    • Support the evaluation of GHG emissions technologies and inventory compilation.
    • Participate in weekly team meetings.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a third or fourth year Bachelor of Science in Engineering program, specifically in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or a related field.
    • Must be returning to school for the following term.
    • Experience leading or contributing to technical projects, including scheduling and activity management.
    • Strong data analysis skills and intermediate proficiency in MS Office 365, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with industry-related software and visualization tools.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Previous experience in the petroleum industry is an asset.

    • Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
    • Work Modality: On-site, with potential for occasional travel to field locations.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
    • Compensation: Paid position.
