    About the role#

    We are looking for a Government Relations Summer Student to join our team for a 4-month term starting in May 2027. You will report to the Manager of Government Relations and Policy and work closely with Senior Government Relations Advisors to support our policy and advocacy efforts.

    What you'll do#

    • Monitor, analyze, and communicate emerging policy issues that affect our business.
    • Write and refine briefing notes and presentations for leadership.
    • Help develop policy positions, advocacy strategies, and communication materials.
    • Compare Canadian energy policy with developments in other jurisdictions like the United States and the European Union.
    • Coordinate meetings, stakeholder engagements, and events.
    • Manage databases for legislative documents and government contact information.
    • Track media coverage and public discourse on energy and environmental policy.
    • Prepare reports and updates for internal stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently in your second or third year of a Bachelor's program in Economics, Business, Political Science, or Public Policy.
    • You plan to return to your studies after this work term.
    • A strong interest in government relations and Canadian energy policy.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • You work well both independently and as part of a team.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Calgary, Alberta.
    • The term is for Summer 2027.
