About the role#
The Risk Management team at AQR monitors and manages market, liquidity, credit, model, and operational risk exposures. As a Summer Analyst, you will contribute to these core functions while gaining practical experience in systematic investing. You will work alongside the team to conduct research, perform quantitative investigations, and support daily risk operations.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to market and liquidity risks across various investment strategies.
- Partner with risk managers on a series of varied analytics.
- Develop new risk management methodologies and improve existing ones based on research outcomes.
- Provide quantitative support, including monitoring investment risk and market risk measures across portfolios and asset classes.
- Support daily risk processes such as limits monitoring and escalation procedures.
- Participate in new projects and client development initiatives.
What you'll need#
- You are a student graduating in December 2027 or Spring 2028 with a background in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- A strong interest in financial markets and risk management.
- Familiarity with financial instruments and risk metrics, such as duration, beta, volatility, and option Greeks.
- Prior experience using a high-level programming language like Python, Matlab, or C++ as a research tool.

- This is a 10-week, full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Greenwich, Connecticut.
