    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship position for Summer 2026 based in Santa Clara, California. You will work on-site as part of a team focused on materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor industry.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and optimize mechanical devices, machines, and systems using principles of physics, mathematics, and materials science.
    • Conduct research and analyze technical data.
    • Create detailed technical drawings.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
    • Oversee manufacturing and installation processes while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a PhD program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with good academic standing.
    • Experience or academic background related to semiconductor manufacturing.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience.
    • Ability to solve complex problems by taking new perspectives on existing solutions.
    • Capacity to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple information sources.
