About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site in Santa Clara, California, contributing to mechanical engineering projects within the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Design and optimize mechanical devices, machines, and systems using principles of physics, mathematics, and materials science.
- Conduct research and analyze technical data.
- Create detailed technical drawings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions.
- Oversee manufacturing and installation processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to support project success.
What you'll need#
- Must be currently pursuing a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and be in good academic standing.
- Prior internship or academic experience related to semiconductor manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Ability to solve complex problems and apply new perspectives to existing solutions.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus.
- A flexible and adaptable mindset.
