About the role#
ANDRITZ is offering a mechanical engineering internship at our Pointe-Claire office for the Winter 2027 term. This position provides practical experience in mechanical design within the hydroelectric sector. You will work alongside experienced staff to apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist the design technician with 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and parts listing.
- Review plans and part lists to ensure they meet client specifications and design standards.
- Manage project documentation and organize team meetings.
- Conduct research to support ongoing projects.
- Assist with project logistics and perform light maintenance on office equipment or design tools.
- Contribute to the improvement of engineering tools, methods, and internal processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Completed or ongoing university coursework in statics, dynamics, materials science, strength of materials, and fluid mechanics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including 3D conceptualization, mechanism assembly, and knowledge of mechanical fastening.
- Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual proficiency.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
