About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Andersen Corporation, you will work within our engineering organization to support manufacturing, automation, process improvement, and equipment reliability. You will partner with engineers, technicians, and operations teams to solve business challenges in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Support electrical and controls engineering projects within our manufacturing facilities.
- Update and improve machine control systems to increase equipment performance and reliability.
- Assist with PLC, HMI, sensor, and automation troubleshooting activities.
- Analyze equipment downtime and implement improvements to boost production efficiency.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Create and update standard operating procedures and engineering work instructions.
- Support equipment installation, startup, testing, and validation.
- Present project findings and recommendations to leadership at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, industrial controls, automation, and manufacturing systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, Visio, or similar software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
