About the role#
The Continuous Improvement Co-Op will join the Continuous Improvement department to support the development and maintenance of automated systems. This role involves participating in the full product lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping to build, installation, and final handover to operations. Your daily responsibilities will be split between time on the manufacturing floor and in the office.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
- Support the development and implementation of automated systems.
- Focus on the ongoing continuous improvement of production functionality.
- Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems and create solutions through software programming.
- Maintain responsibility for the accuracy and quality of assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Academic or work experience developing electromechanical systems, including software and controls for robotics and automation.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school term and near full-time during the summer.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with others.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred: Experience with AutoCAD, 3D modeling, PLC/HMI, ROS, 2D/3D computer vision, and 6-axis robot programming.

- Compensation: $18 to $20 per hour, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus program.
