About the role#
The Continuous Improvement Co-Op will join the Continuous Improvement department to support the development and maintenance of automated systems. This role involves working through the full product lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping to build, installation, and final handover to operations. You will split your time between the manufacturing floor and the office, collaborating with cross-functional teams in Design Engineering, Quality, and Production.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and implementation of automated systems.
- Perform ongoing continuous improvement of production functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Engage in hands-on work on the manufacturing floor alongside office-based design and planning tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Academic or work experience developing electromechanical systems, including software and controls for robotics and automation.
- Availability to work 20 hours per week during the school term and near full-time during the summer.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, exchange ideas, and handle responsibilities with attention to detail.
- Preferred skills include experience with AutoCAD, 3D modeling, PLC/HMI, ROS, 2D/3D computer vision, and 6-axis robot programming.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position, $18 to $20 per hour, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus program.
