About the role#
AMETEK Rotron is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Intern for Summer 2027 in Woodstock, New York. This full-time, on-site role offers practical experience in workplace safety, risk management, and environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to learn how safety principles are applied in daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and refinement of EHS programs, policies, and training materials.
- Review existing programs to ensure they meet federal, state, and local requirements.
- Create tools to monitor program effectiveness, such as audit checklists or tracking systems.
- Perform routine workplace inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- Assist with incident investigations and document findings.
- Support environmental compliance tasks, including waste management and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver safety communications and educational materials for employees.
- Collaborate with the EHS team to improve safety culture and implement corrective actions.
- Respond to real-time EHS needs, including audits and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to use AI tools, with the ability to identify appropriate use cases and evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
