About the role#
AMETEK Rotron is hiring an Information Technology Intern for Summer 2027 in Woodstock, New York. You will work alongside experienced IT professionals to support end users, hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity initiatives. This role provides practical experience in how enterprise technology supports a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and network issues.
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, access requests, and system permissions.
- Help image, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
- Manage software installations, updates, and patch-management activities.
- Maintain IT asset inventory, equipment records, and deployment documentation.
- Assist with network connectivity and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Support cybersecurity awareness, system audits, compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
- Follow security procedures and document findings or corrective actions.
- Create and update user guides and standard operating procedures.
- Collect and organize IT data to support reporting and technology planning.
- Collaborate with departments including Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Human Resources.
- Participate in projects to improve operational efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and Windows operating systems.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and quality, including the ability to identify use cases and evaluate AI outputs.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening before employment.
- Legal authorization to work in the US and access export-controlled information.
