About the role#
The CULTIVATE Internship Program offers a hands-on look at John Deere dealership operations. This paid, full-time summer position lasts at least 11 weeks. Interns complete projects within their assigned departments to gain a deep understanding of how the dealership functions. You will choose between a Sales and Precision Ag track or an Aftermarket track. At the end of the summer, you will present your successes to location and leadership teams.
What you'll do#
Across all tracks, you will participate in onboarding and complete daily tasks at your location. You will also champion one clinic or workshop.
If you join the Sales and Precision Ag track, you will take photos of equipment, display inventory, and follow up on internet leads. You will deliver equipment to customers and review basic operations with them. This track also involves supporting wheat harvest needs, Precision Ag demonstrations, and resolving Operation Center issues. You will manage licenses, review renewal opportunities, and provide phone or in-field support.
In the Aftermarket track, you will enter and verify technician time, monitor warranty expirations, and track product improvement programs. You will run reports on productivity and attendance. This track involves learning about job pricing, parts metrics, and inventory management. You will assist with parts ordering, receiving, and bin counts, while managing special tools and shop procurement processes.
What you'll need#
We are looking for current college students, preferably Sophomores or Juniors, though graduating Seniors are welcome. You should be enrolled in an ag-related program or have a strong interest in the industry, such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Agriculture. A minimum 2.7 GPA is required.
You must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. You need the ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the summer. Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer aptitude are essential. All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

This is an on-site internship located in Garden City, Kansas. The program takes place during the summer of 2027.
