About the role#
The American Heart Association is looking for an intern to join the School Engagement Team. This role focuses on supporting fundraising campaigns, including the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations while helping drive engagement and revenue for our health initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach to schools and manage customer relationships, including documentation in a CRM system.
- Lead student assemblies and represent the team at various community events.
- Assist with volunteer management, such as preparing for and attending meetings.
- Support the execution of fundraising programs and manage projects from start to finish.
- Travel to schools and event sites for in-person engagement.
- Help with events leading up to the NFL Super Bowl.
What you'll need#
- Current senior or graduate student status in business, sales, nonprofit management, marketing, event planning, or public relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Comfort with customer outreach via phone and email.
- Experience or interest in promotion, sales, fundraising, or event planning.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable WiFi and personal transportation.
- Minimum availability of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:30am and 4:30pm.
- Mandatory availability during Super Bowl Week, February 8 to February 14, 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- CRM experience is preferred.

- Location: Los Angeles, California (Hybrid).
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship at $23.00 per hour.
