The NextGen Programs internship provides hands-on experience within the American Heart Association’s Scholars and Business Accelerator teams. This role supports the coordination of accelerator programming, including workshops, speaker sessions, and mentoring events. Interns will gain professional experience in a non-profit environment while contributing to program operations and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics for accelerator programming, workshops, and pitch events.
- Manage program calendars and scheduling for internal staff, cohort participants, and external stakeholders.
- Assist in outreach efforts to recruit volunteers, mentors, and entrepreneurs.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and project milestones.
- Develop materials for meetings, including agendas, notes, and exhibits.
- Provide support for virtual events, including technical troubleshooting and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current college seniors or graduate students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or program management.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and guide projects from inception to completion.
- Preference for candidates with project management or event planning experience.
- Preference for fluency in Spanish or Mandarin.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 11, 2026).
- Work Modality: Remote (must be performed within the United States).
- Commitment: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.
- Compensation: Paid position at $23.00 per hour.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
