About the role#

The American Heart Association is seeking an intern to support the Development Team in Spring, Texas. This role provides hands-on experience in a non-profit environment, focusing on the planning, execution, and follow-up of key fundraising initiatives including the Heart Walk, Heart Ball, and Go Red for Women campaigns.

What you'll do#

• Support fundraising campaigns by assisting with recruitment, engagement, and stewardship of donors and volunteers.
• Participate in all phases of event management, from pre-campaign planning and logistics to day-of execution and post-campaign wrap-up.
• Conduct prospect research to identify new leads for fundraising efforts.
• Manage administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling donor communications, and organizing event supplies.
• Assist with external communications, including calls, emails, and in-person or virtual meetings with community leaders and volunteers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a senior or graduate student in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Health, Communications, or Psychology.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Strong public speaking skills and the ability to engage effectively with the community.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Location: Spring, Texas (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026, to December 11, 2026).
• Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
