This internship provides hands-on experience within a non-profit health organization. Based in San Antonio, you will support the local Development Team in the planning, execution, and follow-up of major fundraising campaigns, including the Heart Walk, Go Red for Women, and the Heart of San Antonio.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative projects.
- Execute outreach via phone and email to donors, volunteers, and third-party vendors.
- Develop and update marketing collateral, including invitations, social media content, and volunteer rosters.
- Conduct prospect research to generate new leads for fundraising campaigns.
- Support volunteer management, including preparing for and attending in-person and virtual meetings.
- Assist with community impact events, such as pop-up produce distributions and hands-only CPR demonstrations.
- Manage data entry and report generation using event support systems.
What you'll need#
- Senior or graduate student status pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Health, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Canva.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
- Strong communication skills, including experience with public speaking and community engagement.
- Ability to work professionally with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in San Antonio, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 11, 2026).
- Commitment: 20–25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation and a reliable WiFi connection are required.
