Intern, Infrastructure Operations & Automation

About the role#

The Infrastructure Operations & Automation Intern will support the Infrastructure Engineering team in maintaining the health, stability, and documentation of enterprise infrastructure systems. This role provides hands-on experience with server, network, storage, and cloud technologies in both datacenter and cloud environments. You will work directly with senior engineers and architects to address real-world infrastructure challenges.

What you'll do#

• Perform daily infrastructure health checks across monitoring platforms and systems to validate uptime and status.
• Monitor backup operations, identify failures, and assist with follow-up actions.
• Assist with triaging infrastructure-related tickets, including categorization and routing.
• Draft internal and customer-facing communications regarding incidents and maintenance activities.
• Partner with engineers to create and improve runbooks, knowledge base articles, and operational documentation.
• Contribute to a defined capstone project focused on operational visibility, efficiency, or reporting enhancements.

What you'll need#

• Current status as a senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, or cloud fundamentals.
• Experience working with databases and electronic reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate information accurately and effectively to multiple audiences.

• Location: Dallas, Texas
• Modality: Hybrid
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 11, 2026)
• Commitment: 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm CT
• Compensation: $23.00 per hour
• Status: Paid internship; requires legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
