This internship provides hands-on experience within a non-profit health organization, specifically supporting the Development Team for the Affair of the Heart and Heart Ball events. The role involves contributing to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these community initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and logistics for community events.
- Conduct pre-event outreach and follow-up calls to participants, coaches, and survivors.
- Prepare materials for sponsor presentations and assist with post-meeting follow-up.
- Manage data entry, pull reports, and organize event-related information.
- Prepare printed materials and organize event supplies.
What you'll need#
- Current senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, Political Science, Marketing, Public Relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
- High proficiency in Canva and intermediate to excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort interacting with community leaders and volunteers.
- Proficiency in multiple social media platforms.
- Reliable transportation to and from Roanoke and Glen Allen, VA, with the ability to travel to other locations in Southwest Virginia as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 11, 2026).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Location: Glen Allen and Roanoke, Virginia.
- Compensation: Paid at $23.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 20-25 hours per week.
