About the role#

The American Heart Association is seeking an intern for the Nation of Lifesavers team in the Greater Philadelphia area. This role focuses on program development, implementation, and evaluation to support efforts to double survival rates from out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest by 2030. This is a paid internship offering practical experience in a non-profit environment.

What you'll do#

• Research existing campaigns and initiatives focused on sudden cardiac arrest to assess the competitive landscape.
• Propose a tiered approach for a recognition program based on research findings.
• Draft communications and coordinate the distribution of recognition materials.
• Maintain partner lists, track progress, and update internal dashboards.
• Assist with the layout, testing, and maintenance of dashboards for leadership reporting.

What you'll need#

• Current college senior or graduate student status, preferably in non-profit management, business, marketing, communications, public health, or psychology.
• Strong research skills, including experience with market research and working with multiple data sources and visualizations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate dense content into clear, easy-to-read written communications.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Canva.
• Experience with Salesforce is considered a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and cultivate professional relationships.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Location & details#

• Location: Philadelphia, PA (On-site 3 days per week).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 11, 2026).
• Commitment: 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
• Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
