    About the role#

    The American Heart Association is seeking an intern to join the Tulsa Development Team for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in the non-profit sector by supporting major fundraising initiatives, including Go Red for Women and the Heart Ball. Interns will gain exposure to campaign planning, donor relations, and community impact events.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising activities and campaign logistics.
    • Collaborate with Development Coordinators and Directors on pre-campaign planning and post-campaign wrap-up projects.
    • Execute external communications via phone and email to donors, volunteers, and vendors.
    • Develop and update marketing collateral, such as invitations, social media content, and event materials.
    • Manage data entry and report generation within event support systems.
    • Support volunteer management, including preparation for in-person and virtual meetings.
    • Conduct prospect research to generate new leads for fundraising campaigns.
    • Assist with community impact initiatives, such as pop-up health events and CPR demonstrations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current status as a senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in business, marketing, public health, communications, event planning, non-profit management, or public relations.
    • Experience with public speaking and community engagement in both group and one-on-one settings.
    • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Canva.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional environment.
    • Reliable transportation and a stable WiFi connection.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma (on-site).
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026, to December 11, 2026).
    • Commitment: 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship at $23.00 per hour.
