About the role#
The American Bankers Association offers a paid summer internship within the Office of Innovation. This full-time role provides an opportunity to contribute to policy development and legal research within a major trade association. Interns work on issues including artificial intelligence, data privacy, and digital assets.
What you'll do#
- Create, organize, and maintain resources for the public and our members.
- Conduct research and draft materials such as white papers, compliance guides, and FAQs.
- Help develop policy positions on laws and regulations.
- Assist in managing team committees and working groups.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support strategy and alignment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned within the team portfolio.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited J.D. program, with plans to return to law school for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas through writing, speech, and presentations.
- Intellectual curiosity and the initiative to develop insights on emerging policy issues.
- A team-oriented mindset, leadership experience, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Familiarity with federal legislative and regulatory processes in banking is preferred.
- Experience with web design and information organization is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: This is a hybrid role with an expectation to work on-site at least two days per week.
- Compensation: $35 per hour.
- Schedule: Full-time at 37.5 hours per week.
