About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Washington, DC. You will join the Member Communications Department to support marketing, advocacy, and editorial projects. This role is hybrid, requiring you to work onsite at least two days per week.
What you'll do#
- Draft ad and editorial copy for advocacy, membership, and marketing campaigns.
- Contribute articles or editorial services to the ABA Banking Journal.
- Edit and proofread communications to ensure quality control and brand compliance.
- Support the department with email newsletters, website content creation, and speechwriting research.
- Curate a commemorative scrapbook for the outgoing ABA Chair.
- Participate in departmental, team, and project-based meetings.
- Help conceptualize creative messaging to support business goals.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, media studies, or a related field at a U.S. university.
- You have a strong command of AP style and meticulous proofreading skills.
- You can manage multiple deadlines and prioritize various assignments.
- You are comfortable with office technology including Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and SharePoint.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Previous experience as a published writer and an interest in the financial services sector are preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Workfront, content management systems like WordPress or Sitecore, CRM platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Generative AI tools is a plus.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Pay: $25 per hour.
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
