About the role#
This co-op position supports the Ameren Real Estate department by working within a GIS environment. You will learn from engineers, designers, and mapping personnel while contributing to active GIS projects. This role involves a blend of office-based data management and field-based site visits to verify records.
What you'll do#
- Map Ameren property rights, referred to as interests, using ArcGIS Pro.
- Deliver mapped interests to the Real Estate GIS Technician.
- Utilize GIS tools to identify property rights for the Real Estate Department.
- Analyze property interests and review GIS data for quality control and quality assurance.
- Visit sites in the field to collect data and verify Ameren records.
- Interact with contractors to evaluate and confirm the validity of provided data.
- Document work practices used to gather, evaluate, and record GIS data.
- Assist with general updates to company data.
- Learn to locate interests within the database and interpret legal documents and descriptions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, with a 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks under time constraints with minimal oversight.
- Ability to make decisions when working with incomplete information.
- Knowledge or experience using Esri ArcPro GIS is highly preferred.
- A solid part-time work history is preferred.
- Willingness to learn real estate concepts alongside GIS technical work.
