About the role#
As a DERMS Co-Op, you will support the Digital/IT team in implementing a Distributed Energy Resource Management System. This system helps electric utilities manage resources like solar, wind, and battery storage. You will gain hands-on experience with modern grid technology, software configuration, and system integration while working under the supervision of the engineering team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with building and setting up DERMS environments across cloud and on-premise components.
- Support application configuration activities for resource forecasting, optimization, and control.
- Coordinate integration configuration with enterprise and operational technologies alongside business units and vendors.
- Execute solution testing, including data validation, functional checkout, and defect documentation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as runbooks, configuration notes, and standard operating procedures.
- Review logs and monitor test results to support troubleshooting and operational readiness.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Familiarity with cloud and on-premise components.
- Understanding of application configuration activities.
- Basic knowledge of solution testing processes.
