About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Fall 2027 Co-op opportunity based in St. Louis, Missouri. You will work under direct supervision to perform transmission drafting tasks, including the creation and maintenance of technical drawings. This role is primarily office-based, though you may take field trips to switchyards or substations as needed.
What you'll do#
- Create, update, and maintain transmission substation and line drawings, including electrical, civil, structural, and building diagrams.
- Modify drawings based on marked prints or verbal instructions.
- Prepare special posters, signs, charts, maps, or reports upon request.
- Assist with field measurements and sketches to resolve drawing discrepancies.
- Manage and update information within the electronic drawing management system.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Design Drafting, Computer Aided Drafting, or a related drafting technology. Students in Civil, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, as well as Graphic, Industrial Design, or Architecture, are also eligible.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required, with a 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Ability to update and maintain technical drawings.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment when working in the field.
