About the role#
Annapurna Labs designs the custom silicon that powers Amazon. This includes Graviton server processors, Trainium and Inferentia machine learning accelerators, and the Nitro system for EC2. We own the full stack, from the silicon itself to the compilers, runtimes, drivers, and frameworks that enable customer workloads. As a Software Development Engineer Intern, you will write the software that turns this custom silicon into products used by millions.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and test software across the stack, from low-level systems code to compilers and tooling.
- Write efficient, maintainable code in C, C++, or Python.
- Optimize software performance on custom hardware.
- Debug complex issues across the hardware-software boundary.
- Collaborate with hardware, compiler, and systems teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Document your work and present results to your team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience in at least one modern language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Coursework or project experience in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Understanding of core computer science fundamentals, including operating systems, computer architecture, or systems programming.
