    About the role#

    Altom Transport is seeking a Software Development Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development within the transportation and logistics industry. You will work from the Hammond, Indiana terminal to support operations, billing, and application development initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in building and optimizing internal applications to support business operations.
    • Develop tools to streamline processes in collaboration with billing and operations teams.
    • Improve mobile and web applications used by customers and staff.
    • Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot, test, and deploy new software solutions.
    • Work on API integrations, database management, and system automation.
    • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to understand business needs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience with JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages.
    • Knowledge of database management, specifically SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.

    • Location: Hammond, Indiana, United States.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Fall 2026.
    • Hours: 20-40 hours per week, depending on availability.
    • Status: Paid internship.
