About the role#
Our Alloy Discovery Services (ADS) group is seeking a Protein Science Co-op to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work within our Protein Sciences group to support the discovery and production of antibody-based therapeutics and recombinant proteins. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in a lab environment while contributing to drug discovery projects.
What you'll do#
- Support the ADS scientific team in the discovery of antibody-based therapeutics.
- Assist with the production, purification, and characterization of in-house and partner recombinant proteins.
- Gain experience with mammalian cell culture, protein design, and engineering.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including HPLC, FPLC, and automation platforms like TECAN and Opentrons.
- Maintain accurate and detailed written records of all laboratory activities.
- Learn the end-to-end Protein Sciences and Antibody Discovery workflow.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Biology or Biomedical Sciences program.
- A strong interest in protein engineering and production for drug discovery.
- An independent sense of urgency, persistence, and integrity.
- A willingness to learn and grow within a team environment.
- Previous lab experience, such as a prior internship or co-op, is preferred.

- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time role.
- Term: Rolling start date.
- Compensation: Paid position, ranging from $23 to $32 per hour based on experience.
