About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering intern at Allegion, you will contribute to our Mechanical Engineering Competency. You will gain experience in product design, testing, and the development process for commercial products. You will work alongside an engineering team that supports on-site manufacturing and a nearby test lab while interacting with cross-functional departments.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to real projects and make a direct impact on our engineering work.
- Deepen your understanding of the engineering change process and product lifecycle engineering.
- Participate in development discussions and implement technical solutions.
- Translate customer needs into specific engineering requirements.
- Solve design-related problems while collaborating with your team to produce well-rounded results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program or a related discipline.
- CAD modeling experience, specifically with Creo.
- Coursework related to manufacturing processes.
- Strong time management, active listening, and creative problem-solving skills.
- An inquisitive nature and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- A desire to learn and grow through projects that impact our business and customers.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in either Mount Comfort, Indiana, or Greenwood, Indiana.
