About the role#
Allegion is hiring a Process Engineering Intern for our fabrication department for the summer of 2027. This full-time role involves developing and maintaining equipment processes within our manufacturing facility. You will work on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana, collaborating with our team to improve plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in implementing new processes for the plant.
- Solve machining and stamping issues.
- Program CNC machines using G-Code and Conversational programming.
- Support the rebuild of old equipment to like-new condition.
- Identify critical spare parts and work with maintenance to improve process reliability.
- Support shop floor layout using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Develop work instructions and standard work for the shop floor.
- Collaborate with plant employees and communicate professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Stay current on new technology and suggest process improvements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Training and experience in multi-axis robots, robot maintenance, robotic programming, and PLC Ladder Logic programming.
- Some prior experience in manufacturing.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics Technology, or Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of motor controllers and abrasive products is preferred.
- Ability to manage time and establish priorities.
