About the role#
Allegion is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for our Fabrication department for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Indianapolis. You will develop and maintain processes for equipment, work on hands-on projects, and gain exposure to industrial plant operations and engineering principles.
What you'll do#
- Assist in implementing new processes to the plant.
- Solve machining and stamping issues.
- Program CNC machines using G-Code and Conversational programming.
- Support the rebuild of older equipment to like-new condition.
- Identify critical spare parts and partner with maintenance to improve process reliability.
- Support shop floor layout using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Develop work instructions and standard work to support the shop floor.
- Collaborate with plant employees and communicate in a professional manner.
- Keep up with new technology and recommend process improvements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in manufacturing.
- Training and experience in multi-axis robots, robot maintenance, and robotic programming.
- Training and experience in PLC Ladder Logic programming.
- Pursuing a degree in Robotics Technology or Computer Integrated Manufacturing is preferred.
- Working knowledge of motor controllers and abrasive products is preferred.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively.
