About the role#
Allegion is looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our fabrication department for the summer of 2027. You will develop and maintain processes for our equipment while gaining hands-on experience with industrial operations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis.
What you'll do#
- Assist in implementing new processes to the plant.
- Solve problems related to machining and stamping.
- Program CNC machines using G-Code and Conversational.
- Support equipment rebuilds to bring machines to like-new condition.
- Identify critical spare parts and partner with maintenance to improve process reliability.
- Support shop floor layouts using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Collaborate with plant employees and cross-functional teams.
- Develop work instructions and standard work to support the shop floor.
- Keep up with new technology and suggest process improvements.
- Communicate professionally and positively with all levels of the organization.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently working toward an associate or bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Prior experience in manufacturing.
- Training or experience with technical processes, machining, stamping, and fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage your time effectively.
- A willingness to learn and grow in the role.
