About the role#
This is a four-month, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will work with the Data Governance team to strengthen data management practices across the organization. This role offers hands-on experience with data quality, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance while you work alongside the Senior Lead for Data Governance.
What you'll do#
- Maintain data catalogs and business metadata to improve how data is discovered.
- Capture, validate, and visualize data lineage using the Atlan tool.
- Conduct data quality assessments to find anomalies and support remediation efforts.
- Track data licensing terms and manage documentation for vendor contracts.
- Develop a market data catalog in Atlan and build dashboards for data availability.
- Support metadata stewardship activities like defining data ownership and classifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to follow data governance workflows and best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Finance, or Information Management.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data governance concepts.
- Proven problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Excel and Power BI.
- Familiarity with SQL or Python is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with stakeholders across different departments.

- This position is based on-site in Calgary or Edmonton.
- The term runs from September 2026 through December 2026.
- This is a paid internship.
